Fought to keep
Most of the time nowadays I wish I could fly. Be it on a broom or on a Hippogriff, I wish I wasn't afraid of heights. Because when I see someone fly, there is a big smile on his or hers face, and for a moment, they forget about everything. The pain, the sorrow, the lonliness but everytime they land, the smile is wiped away and the moment is gone.
No one smiles anymore these days. They can't find the will to do it. But in those rare moments in the air, everyone seems to be able to be happy. And I want that too. I want to smile too.
Even if the war has been over for three months, and we should celebrate the fact that Lord Voldemort is dead, we can't. Too many lives has been lost for us to be able to.
But we try, we really do. But you can't blame us for missing all of those who died, be it during the war or before, by the hands of Death Eaters.
The only time we can feel a glimmer of happiness is when we hear a small child's laugh, because then we know, even if we may never be happy again, at least we prevented others to have to feel the same. We prevented the world from falling into darkness and cruelity. And that is what keeps us alive for now.
And hopefully, one day we'll be able to move on, and live the life we fought to keep.
Nej, skojade bara...
